Our Fruit and Vegetable Garden is blossoming after all the rain we've had and now the lovely sunny days. The PP/1 class picked lettuce and then made themselves yummy cheese and lettuce sandwiches

Ms Nottle heard somewhere that crushed eggshells deter caterpillars so some of the Year 1/2's have spread them around to see if it works.

We are planning to have Wednesday afternoons as 'harvesting day' where parents are encouraged to pick what they need for dinner, for a small coin donation. Donations will then be used to buy more seedlings so we have a constant supply of vegetables. More information on this soon. Please remember that the success of our garden depends on help from our community. Please tell us if you have any gardening hints or can spare any time to tend the garden beds. Community volunteers are welcome.

Some people were writing fairytales, some were writing informational texts and others were writing recounts. We do editing after we've finished so we are sure it makes sense.

Mrs Dickens is going to choose a 'Wonderful Writer' and we are all excited about it. Each fortnight two children from each class are chosen to receive a certificate for doing writing which is interesting, neat or has good spelling and punctuation.

The Year Ones and Twos helped with the writing of this article and Gursheer, Luke and Ronan took the pictures.

At our last assembly, the P&C surprised the entire school community (teachers included!!) with the fantastic news that they would be funding two new interactive whiteboards for our students.

This means that every student at Orange Grove Primary School will have access to these fantastic learning tools.

Thanks to everyone who cooked sausages, helped in the canteen, bought raffle tickets or rattled a tin. This is an amazing achievement and will enable OGPS to keep providing a truly world-class education for our students.
