A warm welcome to the 2007 school year. Everyone is excited about the future in this ever changing world we live in. Orange Grove is well placed to meet the needs of our students in many different ways. Parents and community members are always welcome to visit and support our small school which has a global vision. 2007, HERE WE COME!
2007 is looking like another exciting year for students in Room 3!
Our theme for first term is ‘Fit, Healthy and Strong’. We will be learning about the human body, the importance of exercise, healthy eating and much more.
Later in the year, we will be studying the solar system and might even visit Scitech!
The Year 4 / 5 ‘sleepover’ is fast becoming an Orange Grove tradition, and this will continue in 2007.
Using technology, students will create their own websites and produce an Internet radio show for a world-wide audience.
And, of course, we will maintain a strong focus on fundamental literacy, numeracy and social skills.
It should be an awesome year!
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all parents and students. My name is Miss Rebecca Anderton and I will be the new arts and crafts teacher as well as the year 6 / 7 teacher at OGPS.
I am very excited to be taking on this role as I have a strong interest in art and I believe it should be as creative and innovative as children themselves! I look forward to seeing what these bright minds can create!
I spent many days sorting through the art room and was delighted to find all the kind donations parents had contributed in the past. I would like to thank you for this but to ensure the class does not become cluttered please keep an eye on the Website for specific materials we might need that tie in with a particular concept or theme.
Parent helpers are always welcome in my class and will be putting a timetable up on the art room window as soon as one becomes available. Please be sure to sign up as your help is always greatly appreciated.
