Bush Walk

flowers 21 Aug 08 009 (Small).jpgI recently went for a walk with the Year 4/5 Class in our bush area. We saw many flowers including this lovely Banksia. If you have some time, you are most welcome to go for a walk around our gardens while the wildflowers are out.

Parent Workshop

Busy Bee 015 (Small).jpgThe worshop was a great success. Everyone learnt how easy it was to make healthy lunchbox and picnic foods that kids and adults would love.

Fantastic Community

Busy Bee 039 (Small).jpg Busy Bee 067 (Small).jpgLast Sunday we had a fantastic response to help develop our vegetable garden. Parents should be very proud of what they achieved in such a short time. Everyone enjoyed themselves including my dog. She managed to dig a few holes but not in the right places.

A First for Orange Grove

DSC04063%20%28Medium%29%20%28Small%29.JPG One week ago, parents, staff and students were having breakfast and very patiently waiting for their new laptops. At that point, I could see the dream becoming a reality. The students, supported by their parents, were receiving their very own laptop to use in the classroom. DSC04066%20%28Small%29.JPG On Monday, these same children  walked proudly into school carrying their new tool for learning. You should have seen the SMILES. Well done everyone.

Another Success for the School

2007 Teachers' Innovative Online Learning Award

The 2007 Teachers' Innovative Online Learning Award has recognised those teachers at the forefront of integrating online technologies into education. This award promoted and publicised best practice in online learning in Western Australian public schools and highlighted the Department's vision that schools will become networked learning communities and that ICT will be an integral part of teaching and learning.

There were two categories for the award Primary (for teachers of students in K- 7) and Secondary (for teachers of students in Years 8 -12). Mr Paul Fuller won the Primary Award.

Drop Everything and Read Day

Drop%20everything%20and%20read%20day%20001%20%28Small%29.jpg We recently had a special event which gave the children an opportunity to read to their "hearts' content". Happy readers could be seen in all parts of the school both inside and out. This wonderful strategy supports our Literacy priority beautifully.
