Leave No Trace Australia
I am excited to announce a new partnership between the Year 4 / 5 class at Orange Grove Primary School and Leave No Trace Australia.
Leave No Trace Australia (LNTA) is a national non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor travel and recreation. LNTA builds awareness, appreciation and respect for our natural and cultural heritage.
We are the first school in Australia that Leave No Trace Australia has chosen to partner with. Our class will use the podcast to spread LNTA's important message, while LNTA will provide their expertise, time and educational resources. This partnership will also help the students achieve the "Active Citizenship" outcome of the WA Curriculum Framework.
The students were delighted when Cameron Crowe (Executive Director, LNTA) and Karen Jaworski (Education Program Manager) met with them on Tuesday to introduce the project. We expect that a special podcast episode dedicated to environmental issues will be released in early September.
