Pancake Day
(written by the students in Year 4 / 5)
We had a pancake stall, and it was a giant success. We did this on the 28th of February at recess. We also did a "Guess Who" competition.
On Monday afternoon, the Year 4 / 5 students made the batter for their pancake stall. The ingredients were baking soda, oil, butter, milk, flour, sugar, salt, food colouring and more. Each group made batter for at least ten pancakes.
Two ladies named Deb and Kathy helped us. Kathy is the Mum of a Grade 4 girl named Sara. Deb is the Mum of a Grade 5 girl named Christine. They helped make pancake day happpen.
Our pancake stall was great. We made over 200 pancakes. We had different coloured pancakes. Heaps of people came. They all had a great time.
Our pancake stall was such a success. People came back for doubles. People loved our pancakes with the sugar, butter and syrup. There was a giant queue for our delicious coloured pancakes.
There was also a never-ending queue for the "Guess Who" competition. The winner was Karyce from Year 6.
We raised over $60 for Lea (our World Vision child). We had raised $110 but it cost $50 for the prize and ingredients for the pancakes. We hope the money will buy Lea a set of clothes and some food.
