I congratulate them on their commitment to their leadership roles and as role models for the rest of the student body. They will all be attending the Young Leaders Conference at the Perth Convention Centre on Friday 17 March. 

Kindergarten Art Mural Project - Parent Help

On Tuesdays this term Mr Bathols is working with the Year 5/6 class to create a mural on the back wall of the library facing the Kindergarten playground. We would very much appreciate any available parent help.

On Entry Assessments Pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2

Assessments in Literacy and Numeracy will be starting next week for all Pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2 students. The results of the assessments will give teachers information on the needs of the children which will assist with planning for focused and targeted teaching. Reports on the results of the assessments will be sent to parents early next term.

P&C Annual General Meeting

The P&C annual general meeting for 2017 is being held at 8.45am on Thursday 23 March. It will be held in the Board Room at the school office. Please consider nominating for a position on the executive committee to head the P&C or joining to assist your children with fund raising for resources for the school. Nomination forms are available from the office.

SCHOOL SAFETY RULES

 

BOYLE LANE SCHOOL ZONE
- All of Boyle Lane is now a school zone. From 7:30am to 9:00am and from 2:00pm to 3:30pm on school days you must obey the 40km/hour speed limit. 

CAR PARK

- Drive slowly it's an 8km an hour zone

- Don’t walk through car park, walk around the outside of the car park.
- Reverse parking only.

 

KISS & DRIVE
- Drop Off and Pick up ONLY
- No Parking
- Only for pick up after 3:05pm if child is waiting.
- All children must wait for their parents with the staff member on duty.
- Children are not to walk through the Kiss & Drive area, as this poses a significant safety hazard.

After School Arts

After School Arts enrolment is on Thursday 9 February 4pm-5pm at Jorgenson Park in Kalamunda. Vacancies exist in all classes of 'Pottery', 'Painting and Drawing' and 'Hooked on Hessian'. Classes commence Thursday 16 February from 4pm-6pm for 8 weeks.

Parking Around Schools - Did You Know?

Congestion around schools can be a major traffic hazard. Some motorists double park or park contrary to signs causing visibility issues or creating blind spots, which put young lives at risk. Please obey all signage and road rules to provide a safer school environment and consider alternative travel such as walking, cycling or public transport.   

Canning Districts Hockey Club

Junior/Hook in2 Hockey Registration Day
Sunday 12 February 2017
From 11am-2pm
Where: Ferndale Reserve, Metcalfe Road, Ferndale (Opposite Lynwood Village Shopping Centre).
 
Canning is a KidSport Club within the City of Canning. A Hook in2 Hockey FUN DAY will be held on Wednesday 26 April from 4.30 – 5.30pm at Ferndale Reserve with various activities planned. The Hook in2 Hockey Program will commence the following Wednesday 3 May.

Queens Park Junior Football Club - 2017 Season Registration

Your local community club is going into its 54th competition year and is looking forward to welcoming back players from last year as well as inviting anyone interested in getting involved to join the mighty Bulldogs!

There are teams across all year levels: Auskick (PP-Yr 2), Junior (Yrs 3-7) and Youth (Yrs 8-12) and specialised female competitions for Yrs 3-6 and 7-9.

Online registration and payment is done through FoxSport. The link to register your child is HERE. Or come along to our first Registration Day at the QPJFC Clubrooms, Treasure Rd Queens Park, on Sunday 19 February from 9am-12pm (EFTpos will be available).
