Use the information below to choose the correct items for classroom learning, sport and everyday school activities.
Why We Wear Uniform
The school dress code supports students, families and the wider school community in several important ways.
Fosters and enhances the public image of the school.
Helps build a strong sense of identity and team spirit.
Supports safe clothing choices for school activities.
Encourages fairness and consistency among all students.
Helps prepare students for workplaces with dress and safety codes.
Years K–6
Students should wear the approved school colours and items listed below.
Red polo with a blue collar and the school logo, available in short- or long-sleeved styles.
Navy track pants, trousers, shorts, pleated skirt or skort.
Red zip jacket displaying the Orange Grove school logo.
Black enclosed shoes, flat semi-enclosed sandals, or black or predominantly white sneakers.
Navy opaque 70-denier stockings or white ankle socks.
Navy wide-brimmed or bucket-style school hat.
Special Uniforms
Different uniform items may be worn for physical education, sport and Year 6 graduation activities.
Physical Education
Year 6
Year 6 students may wear their graduation shirts on school occasions unless the Principal identifies an event where the standard uniform is required.
Presentation and Safety
These expectations help students remain safe, comfortable and appropriately presented at school.
Excessive jewellery, including bangles, dangling earrings and necklaces, is not permitted. Temporary tattoos should not be worn.
Small sleepers, stud earrings and jewellery worn for cultural or religious reasons are permitted.
The approved school hat must be worn for activities outside the classroom. Other hats should not be brought to school.
Orange Grove Primary School follows a “no hat, no play” approach.
Dress Code Expectations
The school works with students and families to understand and resolve uniform concerns.
School Follow-up
A staff member may speak with a student to understand why the correct uniform is not being worn.
If the dress code is not followed on several occasions, parents or carers may be contacted and a family-school meeting may be arranged.
Policy Note
The Orange Grove Primary School dress code is consistent with the Department of Education’s dress requirements for students.
